Pursuing God's Heart

Why Pursuing God’s Heart

I wonder if that’s what this life-journey is all about.
God pursues me; I find myself yearning for him.
God loves me first; I love him back.
God speaks; I hear his voice.
God says, “Come”; I follow.
God says, “Go”; I anxiously wrestle with what that means—surrender and go.
God says, “Don’t be afraid, I am with you”; I relax, and find courage.
God says, “Love your neighbor”; (Gasp) “You mean everyone?”
God says, “You are but a straw”’; Then flow through me, my Love, my Lord.

Listening, hearing, following, stretching, growing, reaching, going, loving, doing . . . repeat.

Maybe it’s like a dance. God leads, I follow. Sometimes the dance floor is messy and it’s hard to dance—at least on my part. Other times, the dance seems to be a glorious glide across life’s ballroom, a poetic rhythm and rhyme of a heart beating in time with my Love, my Lord.

God’s passion, my passion.

One thing Jesus has been impressing on me is open venues, places, for a shared journey, to share the dance. Places where the things Jesus has given me on my journey can be shared with you, and you can share back things he has done and is doing in you. Places where we can meet to pursue God’s heart together, to embrace his agenda, purposes, vision together. Places that are about “thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”
I invite you to join this pursuit of God’s heart!

God’s passion, our passion.
